The Dell Streak Isn’t Two Things; It’s Neither

After almost a year full of leaks, announcements, showcases, boredom, the much talked about tablet from Dell, the Streak, has finally been released. Here’s what I think about it.

The Dell Streak makes no sense. on Twitpic

The Dell Streak is a tablet-cum-smartphone. You can use it as a tablet, or you can actually use it as a phone to make and receive calls. But with a 5-inch screen, it’s really too small to be a useful tablet and too big to be a convenient phone. It isn’t two things; it’s neither.

The Streak runs Android. It doesn’t matter whether it runs 1.6 or 2.x. The problem with tablets running Android is the same: THERE ARE NO FUCKING APPS. What the fuck are you going to do with an Android tablet that you can’t already do on your Android smartphone?

The Dell Streak makes no sense. It’s being sold for Rs. 35,000. Fuck.
